The Mobile Inauguration - January 19th, 2009
Barack Obama’s Inauguration will be the Mobile Inauguation. Most mobile carriers are estimating record number of text messages being sent on Inauguration day.
Wonder what the chance of micro blogging and social networks being overloaded is?
My money is on Twitter being overloaded and shut down at some point during the day.
Google Droppng Jaiku? - January 15th, 2009
If this rumor is true, looks like Twitter will emerge the victor in the Micro Blogging sector. And no I am not discounting Tumblr and a few others, but in the real sense of Micro Blogging there were only three sites, Twitter, Jaiku and Pownce.
The reason I said rumor is that I have yet to see an official release from Google stating that Jaiku is dead.
AT&T Spams Their Own Customers for American Idol - January 14th, 2009
In a very strange move, AT&T spammed their OWN network with an advertisement for the American Idol television show, for which AT&T is a sponsor.
What were they thinking?
In this tough economy it seems nothing will be beyond the attempt of a company to draw customers, and that in itself could lead to an even more downward spiral for some companies.
Autonet Mobile - January 8th, 2009
Autonet Mobile looks like a pretty good solution to providing in car Wifi Internet access.
The problem I have is I need this technology a few times a year, not worth the cost to purchase an Air Card or Autonet Mobile service.
Maybe Autonet Mobile or another company will come up with a Wifi Rental Plan !

Phish on the Rise - January 7th, 2009
Looks like Phish is on the rise again, no, not the Twitter Phish, the fusion band Phish.
Just noticed Phish was on Google Trends today and we had to check it out.
Expecting just more reporting on the Twitter Phish problems we were surprised to see that there are rumors of a Phish Reunion. Expect to see more headlines about Trey Anastasio in coming months if the rumors are true.
iTunes DRM Removal - January 7th, 2009
Looks like we finally get DRM free music from iTunes. Apple announced their new price structure which now has 3 price points and DRM Free music.
Having several computers and several iPods in one house I will be thrilled with a DRM free environment.
